                Awaken
I was not prepared. I was definitely not prepared. It all started what it felt like this morning. I woke up, casually got myself dress and headed to a coffee shop down the street where I were to meet up with some friends. At the coffee Shop, we noticed a construction site across the street.  It was said it would soon be a new restaurant. Me and the gang discussed how the new restaurant will create competition. After thirty minutes we left the coffee shop and walked across the street. It felt like any other day, nothing out of the ordinary.  Then, black. Everything went black.

It felt like little time passed went I was able to open my eyes again. Now I’m awake with my vision blurred, going in and out of focus.  It took me a few minutes until I can see my surroundings. It seems to me that I was staring at a ceiling. Where am I? How did I get here? I turned my head slightly to see that I was in a dark lit room, where the walls seem to have large file cabinets for god-knows-what. I need to get of here, I need answers.

My body was really stiff and it was very difficult to move. I slowly reach out my right hand. Why am I so high up off the floor? I put my hands to my side and carefully lifted my body up. My body suddenly feels heavy, as though it was being weighted down. It looks like I’m on some sort of metal table or bed, which explains why I felt like I was closer to the ceiling and far from the floor. I placed my feet down to the floor and tried to gain back my balance, hopefully I am able to walk.

It took me a couple of moments before my right foot were able to move forward, then my left foot followed. It’s kind of funny, I can’t recall walking like this, I’m practically just sliding my feet to move. I look in front of me to see two large doors with a crack of light shining through the other side. There’s where I have to go. I slid myself to the doors and felt the coldness of the room. It was as though I’ve been sleeping in a freezer, except this temperature is more tolerant. As I open the door, the light from the other side stung my eyes. After a moment of adjusting to the light I finally open my eyes.

The bright white tiles on the floor and glossy walls created a long and narrow path. The hallway is giving me some feeling of dread. With a vision like this you would think I’m in some hospital. Oh who am I kidding of course that’s where I am, I said to myself with a nervous chuckle. I didn’t know why I laugh, probably because I didn’t want to believe or REFUSED to believe that I am where I am. How on earth could I awake at a hospital? What could of happen? What could of happen to me? I need to know NOW! I need to know what happen to me!

I speed up my pace and hurried down the hallway, looking for a nurse, a doctor, assistant, anyone who could help. A nurse walked quickly across my path, she didn’t see me. I opened my mouth and tried to call out to her. Help. HELP! I couldn’t. There was some heavy pressure in my chest that refused me to speak. For a moment I felt a little defeated. Then my determination returned to me, I just need answers and I need them right now. I look farther down the hall to see a waiting room. I hope someone will see me and get help.

As I approached the waiting room, I saw some familiar figures. Could it be? Yes, yes it was them! My family and friends where here at the hospital. Could they know the reason why I am here? Their backs where facing my direction so they couldn’t see me. As I got closer I let out a grunt to get their attention. All of them turned and looked at me.

Those faces, filled with such shock and horror, what’s wrong? What do they see? Suddenly my mother let out a frightful shriek before fainting on the ground. One of my friends behind her fell to her knees and vomit. My sister ran down the hall screaming hysterically for help. Everyone else moved back against the wall, except for my father, who stood frozen with a horrific face. What is happening? Why are they acting this way? Don’t they see I need their help? I reach out my hand, gesturing my father for help. He lifted his left hand up and pointed at the direction beside me. I turn my head to see a harmless mirror. I glance at my reflection. What I saw in the refection was the cause behind my family’s hysteria.

My skin no longer filled with color but with a gray emotionless tone. My eyes; bright and pale with a hazy film over it. Then I notice something shocking in my refection, something that I was not ready for. A metal rod is impaled through my chest, entering the area where my heart is and coming out of my lower back. How could this be? How could I still be standing with a rod piercing my heart?  I turned around and look down the hall and stared at the room I came out of. There as a sign next to the room. MORGUE.
a story I did for my Creative English class. I plan to update and imporve this story later. and I know it might be the most original but I do my best :D
